The number of MPs of “The Servants of the People” who are not bound by one ideology can only be kept by authoritarian methods. This opinion was expressed by the leader of the European Party of Ukraine Mykola Katerynchuk on the ZIK channel.
“Hard discipline is needed. An imperative mandate has to be introduced. Although the Venice Commission does not recommend it. From my experience, I would say that I was in a fraction of 120 deputies. It was necessary, first, to be competent, and secondly, to be close to the leadership of the fraction, in order to consider your bill or amendment. But that’s not the point. The Verkhovna Rada of the last convocation submitted about 13 thousand bills, about 2 thousand were passed. But the lives of Ukrainians have not changed for better. That is why it is important to look not only at the names of the bills, but also about the consequences for the people of their implementation. Simply passing laws is not a reform yet”, said Mykola Katerynchuk.
