Political forces that will determine European integration as priorities of their legislative activity should enter Ukrainian parliament. Last year, the Association Agreement with the EU was implemented by only 42%. The lowest performance in parliament, which managed only 28% of the implementation of the Agreement in terms of lawmaking. This was stated by the representative of the Civic Position team Mykola Katerynchuk on Ukrainian radio.

“Poroshenko’s initiative to secure a course at the EU and NATO in Ukrainian Constitution has been declarative and for the sake of PR. What was necessary to do is to introduce in the transitional provisions of the Constitution of Ukraine provisions that would allow the implementation of the Lisbon Treaty (EU Constitution) into Ukrainian legislation. All other approaches are semi-professional.

That is why it is very important to enter into next parliament the “Civic Position” fraction, which is already lobbying Ukraine’s interests as part of the third largest fraction of the European Parliament – the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe. And parties such as European Solidarity, which has done nothing for real European integration, should not be represented in the highest legislative body of the country. It is important that all deputies in the next parliament, and all ministers in the government, become European integrators”, said Mykola Katerynchuk.
