The leader of the European Party of Ukraine Mykola Katerynchuk is convinced that Anatoly Grytsenko has not been included in the sanction list of the Russian Federation because two criminal cases have already been brought against him in Russia. He said this on the air of the TV channel ZIK, commenting on the decision of the Government of the Russian Federation to expand the list of natural and legal persons of Ukraine, to which special economic measures apply.
In addition, the politician believes that the main purpose of updating the sanction list of the Russian Federation, in particular concerning pro-Russian MPs and businessmen, is the pressure of the Kremlin on pro-Russian forces in Ukraine to unite around the pro-Kremlin candidate in the 2019 elections. According to Katerynchuk, Poroshenko is interested in such a candidate coming out with him in the second round, because the incumbent president believes that this increases his chances to stay in power.
It should be reminded that according to the poll, Ukrainians named Anatoly Grytsenko the only candidate for president from the democratic forces. 50% of those polled voted for it.
