Mykola Katerynchuk commented on the statement of the German liberals regarding the Crimea

“The issue of de-occupation of the Crimea in the Minsk agreements is not spelled out, although the administration of the President considers them to be the only solution. In this case, there is a rhetorical question: how can we generally assess the statements of politicians of other countries regarding the Crimea, when the government itself does not list them as the priority tasks, aimed to return the uncontrolled territories”, – commented the leader of the European Party of Ukraine Mykola Katerynchuk on the statement of the head of the Free Democratic Party of Germany Christian Lindner on the need “to seal” the annexation of the Crimea.

“It is easy to give negative evaluations to the statements of those who actually make efforts to implement the Minsk agreements in order to resolve the conflict in the East of Ukraine. In fact, Christian Lidner expresses the opinion of the Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel, who has a pro-Ukrainian position from the first days of the war in Ukraine. And queations such as “Why do you forget about the Crimea?” should be firstly directed to ourselves”, – said Mykola Katerynchuk.

“Neither the liberals of Germany, nor the liberals of other countries of the world should be blamed for the fact that we have a military conflict in eastern Ukraine and the annexed Crimea. And nobody, except ourselves, will solve this problem. Therefore, the current government must demonstrate determination in this matter (because it has an official mandate), to conduct an appropriate foreign policy, to seek new formats of international negotiations in order to end the war and return the Crimea”, – added the leader of the European Party of Ukraine.
