Mykola Katerynchuk considers criminal cases against anticorruption NGOs politically motivated

“The violation of the criminal case against the NGO “Anticorruption Action Centre” is politically motivated. Because it is impossible to explain in another way that the law enforcement agencies took into account a letter from the structure (tax police) that is out of law. The government thus eliminates one of the key players that not only declares the fight against corruption, but proves it in practice”, – said the leader of the European Party of Ukraine, commenting on the widespread information in the media about the criminal proceedings against the officials of the NGO “Anticorruption Action Centre”.

“This organization has already proved its inconvenience for the authorities: control over the appointment of judges of the Supreme Court of Ukraine, systemic control over the activities of the General Prosecutor’s Office, systematic work on identifying corruptionists in the upper echelons of power and close cooperation with the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine. The reaction of the authorities to their anti-corruption activities is expected for me”, – said Mykola Katerynchuk.

“These events can not be considered otherwise than a persecution. I urge the authorities to refrain from such decisions. History does not know the cases of age domination of the dictatorship. And such experiments of the authorities will not lead to anything good”, – added the politician.
