Mykola Katerynchuk: President’s decree on deprivation of citizenship of Saakashvili is aimed to check the readiness of the society to protest

“Considering his low rating, Petro Poroshenko wants to keep the power at all costs. And now he is checking the reaction of society on whether he can manage the country with his decrees. And the situation with the deprivation of citizenship of Mikheil Saakashvili is the first marker for the President, which shows the readiness of Ukrainian Society to go out to protest”, – said the leader of the European Party of Ukraine Mykola Katerynchuk on the air of the KUB channel.

“Petro Poroshenko as the head of state continues to behave as a businessman, whose sole purpose is to earn money. And after issuing this decree, the President checked the society: if people do not go out, then everything is good and he can continue to do business. But such a decision by the President may turn out to be a fatal mistake. Today`s action at Maidan has shown that the mood of society is not that stable”, – said the politician.

“And the closer elections are, the more prominent this trend will be. The President understands that he will not win the second time in the first round. And in the second round, as sociological polls show, he will lose to all politicians. Therefore, his only chance is to discredit opponents. And Saakashvili became the first politician whom Petro Poroshenko removed in the struggle for power in the country. And, in my opinion, he will not be the only one”, – added Mykola Katerynchuk.
