Mykola Katerynchuk: The Procurement System “Prozorro” looks like Ukraine’s largest corrupt scheme

On 21th July, 2017, the leader of the European Party of Ukraine, Mykola Katerynchuk, on the air of one of the TV channels in real time answered the most pressing questions of the viewers. Mykola Katerynchuk told about participation in two revolutions, about the elections of Kyiv mayor, decentralization and the war in the East.

The issue of corruption, including the recent scandal over the tender for the purchase of trams, which won the company from Poland, became particularly relevant to viewers.

Mykola Katerynchuk commented on a scandalous tender: “The cost of the tender for the supply of trams, which won the Polish company, amounted to about 1 billion 600 million hryvnias. Thus, about 400 million hryvnias of taxes will not remain in Ukraine, but will go to the Polish budget. Instead of supporting Ukrainian entrepreneurs, we are donating Polish companies, while saving of  public money is insignificant”.

“The tender was conducted through “Prozorro”, which in my opinion, is a huge deception of the entire Ukrainian society. The idea was good, but its implementation reminds us of nothing more than the biggest corrupt scheme for the laundering of about 300 billion budget funds that go through the system every year”, – he added.
