Mykola Katerynchuk: there was no betrayal at the Normandy summit.

10/12/2019 09:36

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky did not cross the red lines and did not betray national interests at the Normandy Summit in Paris on December 9, 2019. Such a thought on the air of “Good morning, country!” said the leader of the European Party of Ukraine Mykola Katerynchuk.

Those who signed the Minsk agreements shouted about betrayal. Recently, we have a clear impression that we live in a madhouse. Former President Poroshenko who signed the Minsk agreements, called them his peace plan, now gathers people around him to accuse his successor in betraying of national interest.

The outcome of the summit is very positive: the parties agreed to cease fire, to return the prisoners, to held the next meeting in four months. But the border issue, regaining control of it, remains the number one issue. If we change the order of implementation of the Minsk Agreements and first regain control of the border and then hold local elections, it will be a way to a lasting peace. If this does not happen, then the Transnistrian variant will be waiting for us, said Mykola Katerynchuk.
