Today on 24 July, 2017 the leader of the European Party of Ukraine Mykola Katerynchuk and the Chairman of the Maritime Transport Workers’ Union Serhiy Bryzgalov signed a Memorandum of Cooperation.
“Our Party is concerned about the situation prevailing at certain enterprises of the maritime transport of Ukraine, the actions and inaction of officials of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine in matters of reforming the maritime industry of Ukraine. The workers of the maritime transport of Ukraine applied to our Party with this information and with the request to assist them in the reformation of seaports, in resolution of personnel issues in the appointment of the first managers of the maritime industry, in the creation of equal conditions for the functioning of private stevedoring companies in the seaports of Ukraine”, – said the leader of the European Party Ukraine Mykola Katerynchuk. – “The signing of the Memorandum is the first step in implementing the joint action plan of the Trade Unions and our Party aimed to eliminate the existing practice of violating the norms of the labor legislation of Ukraine by individual heads of enterprises in the field of maritime transport”.
The parties agreed to conduct joint actions on: the registration of issues requiring urgent resolution; development and implementation of the mechanism for solving these issues; preparation, signing and sending of joint letters to the addressees at all levels of executive and legislative power of Ukraine, law enforcement agencies of Ukraine; organization of joint working meetings with the EU ambassadors in Ukraine and the ambassadors of the G7; holding of general meetings (conferences) at the enterprises of the maritime industry of Ukraine in order to inform employees about the results of the joint work of the Party and the Trade Union; carrying out other measures of a democratic direction.
