The European Party of Ukraine held an action “To be free in the EU”

Today, on 24th November, 2016 at St. Michael’s Square in Kyiv the action of the European Party of Ukraine “To be free in the EU” was held.

The President has promised a visa-free regime for three years, constantly naming the “final” date and permanently delaying it. Participants of the action urged the President of Ukraine to stop lying to the Ukrainian people and to stop feeding us with the empty promises of a visa-free regime.

In addition, actvists expressed the requirements for the resignation of Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin. Given the fact that the results of his work did let to a visa-free regime and they are not even close to the possible date of its implementtion. After three years of efforts, a visa-free regime for Ukraine was again postponed for an indefinite period. Protesters symbolically handed Klimkin a bike, so that he could left his position by it.

During his speech, the leader of the European Party of Ukraine Mykola Katerynchuk said: “Three years ago we went to Maidan made it clear that we choose the European vector. We urge Ukrainian authorities to follow their promises and seek from European officials to be resolute and consistent in motion to meet Ukraine. The European Parliament should immediately consider a visa-free for Ukraine at the next plenary week and provide visa liberalization without any separation mechanisms”.

“Only under these conditions it will ossible to input mechanism for visa-free travel by the end of this year. Only such a position must be suported by Ukrainian authorities on the EU-Ukraine summit, that is held in Brussels today”,- he said.
