The European Party of Ukraine joined the signing of the Anti-Corruption Declaration

On April 10, 2017 in Kyiv, a round table on anti-corruption challenges in Ukraine was held. It was attended by prominent anti-corruption NGOs, a number of political forces (Volya, Hvylya, Movement of new forces, Civic Position, Democratic Alliance, People’s Control, the European Party of Ukraine and etc.) and business community.

The European Party of Ukraine was represented by the party leader Mykola Katerynchuk. He expressed party’s position to support this initiative and offered to add to the declaration enacting of the law on impeachment. “Fighting corruption is a political will, and first of all, the will of the President of Ukraine”, – said Mykola Katerynchuk. – “It is impossible today to determine the anti-corruption strategy for Ukraine without liability of the president”.

As the result of the roundtable participants signed the Anti-Corruption Declaration with an appeal to the current government in order to prevent rollback of the anti-corruption legislation.

The purpose of this initiative – to provide assessment of the challenges, that anti-corruption institutions face, to identify risks associated with the recent vote in the Parliament on anti-corruption matter and decide on common actions to prevent kickback in the fight against corruption.
