The president will quickly realize that a country’s revival is possible only after a change of power, said the representative of the Civic position Mykola Katerynchuk on the air of “NASH” channel, commenting on the visit of President Zelensky to Nikolaev.
“It is very good that the president goes to the country`s region, learns about what is happening in the country, gets acquainted with the situation, listens to local authorities, dismisses officials. The sooner the president understand he will not be able to operate like a fire truck, the sooner he will realize that it is necessary to change the system of state administration. And I hope that in the legislative initiatives of the President will appear a bill that provides life imprisonment for bribetakers, as suggested by the Civic Position, emphasized Katerynchuk.
Ten years ago, Anatoly Hrytsenko’s law “On Combating Bribery” was passed, which provided life imprisonment for bribetakers among judges, investigators and prosecutors. But then he was vetoed by President Yushchenko. The Civic Position team will continue its anti-corruption strategy in the future parliament.
