The First Deputy Chairman of the European Party of Ukraine Victor Vasilyuk considers that the application of the acting Minister of Health Care Uliana Suprun about the rejection of the nationwide program “Oncology” is not just resonance. This is a sentence to all of us. This is a to verdict to Ukrainian people, especially when each year about 160 thousand of Ukrainians find out that they have cancer.
Uliana Suprun explained that her Ministry is focused on preventing diseases rather than their treatment. Prevention – is good. But what shout do those, who are already ill? Die? It is not even a rhetorical question, but a question-and-answer. Even now, mostly, Ukrainians pay themselves or by their relatives for cancer treatment. Even under such circumstances it is not always possible to achieve positive dynamics, not to mention a full recovery.
“Certainly, preventive medicine has to be developed, it is a key to a healthy nation. But the way proposed by the Ministry of Health Care is absolutely unacceptable. Treatment of cancer is extremely high-priced and only a small part of Ukrainians can afford it. Rejecting such state support they actually denies the right to life of such patients”, – says Victor Vasilyuk.
