Concerning President Yanukovych “hundred days rule” Consequences

It has been traditional for Ukraine to summarize the results of the first hundred days’ work of the new power. There has been no exception for the President of Ukraine Victor Yanukovych. A number of actions on the state level on the occasion of the mentioned event are amazing with the scope and scale: the message to the people, an interdiction for holding meetings under the walls of the Palace “Ukraine” and so forth.

The European Party of Ukraine joins the estimation of the third President of Ukraine activities and declares doubtful character of estimated declarations of those politicians and experts who consider the first hundred days of Yanukovych to be successful start for development of the whole of Ukraine. We consider that the main lack of work of the “naphthalene” power is its inability to begin reform in economic and social sphere. Moreover we underline that any reforms cannot be talked over in view of inability of conservative structure of the power to think and operate in new state and economic realities. All pre-election statements by Yanukovych for his intentions quickly deduce the country from economic crisis, are actually leveled by the Cabinet of Ministers under his control.

The European party of Ukraine does an accent on inadmissibility and resolute disagreement with power actions, and considers erroneous and inadmissible its following decisions: signing of the Kharkiv agreements and their unprecedented cynical and illegal approval in the Parliament; rapprochement with the Russian Federation in the closed mode; declarative statements for the European integration intentions and complete ignoring of this question consideration within the precincts of the Parliament; full audit of policies and activities of the previous power; unmotivated formation of the government and personnel appointments in the regions by a principle “ours-another’s”; unprecedented and unreasoned policy in humanitarian area; anti-constitutional formation of the parliamentary majority; application of power methods for dispersal of peace meetings of citizens; judicial interdiction for holding meetings; exclusive influence on judicial system and its use in interests of ruling political force; basic unwillingness to communicate with opposition; attempts of criminal prosecution of representatives of opposition forces; conscious advances with the status of the Ukrainian language, as uniform state; conscious pressure upon a freedom of speech and introduction of mass media censorship; anti-constitutional cancellation of elections to local councils; cynical imitation of anti-corruption activities; inability and unwillingness of liberal reforms carrying out, as uncontested condition for social standards improvement; postponing the necessities of the Tax Code acceptance; system narrowing of possibilities for lawful business dealing; implementation into practice of the supervising bodies the work methods of 1990-ieth (taxes tightening for the following accounting period, “masks-shows” which had not taken place for the last five years, preferentially for the power business owners etc.)… It is the incomplete list of those features characterizing the first hundred days to which it is possible to add and add numerous points.

We, representatives of the European Party of Ukraine, underline that the portion of Ukrainians who did not support the current President at the elections, cannot answer the question: Is Yanukovych the President of the whole of Ukraine or only of that part which voted for him? We are compelled to ascertain that all his actions and decisions are focused on satisfaction of a small part of business structures confidants, and those who do not agree – are bought for miserable cost by neighbours from the East. Stability which has been declared loudly today by the President from the stage of the Palace “Ukraine” has nothing in common with well-being improvement of the citizens: the prices grow, tariffs increase, pensions and salaries are inadequate.

The list of “good deeds” in comparison with “achievements” listed above looks simply pitiable, and still it is important for the state: public statements about intentions of joining the European Union, demarcation of the Russian-Ukrainian border, signing of the Law on the State Budget for 2010, creation of the Committee on Economic Reforms at the President of Ukraine. At the same time each of the listed “good deeds” has either negative for the country acceptance preconditions or not absolutely comprehensible consequences, or simply unconstitutional way of acceptance (adoption of the Law on the State Budget without any discussion).

Considering the told above, the European Party of Ukraine confirms its opposition status to the ruling power and declares that it will act further as the objective critic of all antinational and antidemocratic decisions made by authorities in power. We will always stand on the position of the European values according to which values of the citizen are put on scales with interests of the state not only in speeches from the stage, but also in a real life.
