“In my opinion, the blockade has nothig to do with energy independence and security of Ukraine. We, the European Party of Ukraine, from the beginning supported the organizers of the blockade and we continue to support them now”, – said the leader of the European Party of Ukraine Mykola Katerynchuk on Radio Era.
“I want to emphasize that the blockade was initially related to the fact that almost all combats of the volunteer battalions sharply criticized this government for its inaction in the release of our captive soldiers. Then the activists proposed the blockade of the occupied territories, in order to bring back our soldiers in exchange for gas, water and electricity. It is a common practice of the liberation of the hostages, so such actions were fully justified. But over time it became clear that the situation is more complicated, and there are well-established smuggling flows in the occupied territories. It is actually aid for terrorists, in order to let them keep our guys, fight with us and violate Minsk agreements”, – he said.
“That is why the European Party of Ukraine supports the blockade of the occupied territories. Ukraine has long been independent in terms of energy, so that thare is no reasons to speak about the state of emergency in the energy sector and the light shutdown. Statements of the authorities on the state of emergency – is nothing more than attempts to oppose the position of people who are fighting for Ukraine, to those who get money from this. And thus the government wants to win people over, to the side of those, who control these flows and those who cover them”, – said Mykola Katerynchuk.
“While this government will make money on this war, there is no possible resolution of the situation. And I am sure that the third anniversary of the shooting of Heavenly Hundred will gather thousands of people and this government will have to listen a lot of unpleasant things to its address. And it is good to the government to hear people and finally begin to work for Ukrainians. Otherwise, this government will not stay in their seats for long”, – he stressed.
