Today, People’s Deputy of Ukraine, Leader of the European Party of Ukraine Mykola Katerynchuk submitted to the Parliament a draft Law on Amendments to the Regulations of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine (to improve political accountability of subjects of legislative initiative in the introduction of draft laws) (№ 8280)
“Recently, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine introduced a significant number of bills advisability of the adoption of which is questionable. Given this, it seems necessary to increase the political responsibility of subjects of legislative initiative in the introduction of bills to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, in particular – by providing compulsory individualization of bills during their consideration at the plenary sessions of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in the first, second and third readings”- says the author of the draft law.
The purpose of the bill is to increase the political responsibility of people’s deputies of Ukraine and other subjects of legislative initiative in the introduction of bills to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
The draft law amends the Regulations of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine approved by the Law of Ukraine “On the Rugulations of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine” according to which during the announcement of the bill at the plenary session of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, and before staging the vote presiding at the plenary session together with the name of the bill announces f the initiator of the bill – the subject of legislative initiative.
“Adoption of this law will increase the political responsibility of People’s Deputies of Ukraine and other subjects of legislative initiative in the introduction of bills to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine”, – says MP.
