“Today, on April 18, the European Parliament adopted Moralis` amendments on the Agreement between Ukraine and the EU on visa facilitation, which helped to simplify border crossing for Ukrainian citizens. Our delegation played not the last role at the debate on this issue, held within the walls of the European Parliament on Wednesday “- reported Mykola Katerynchuk, the leader of the European Party of Ukraine, People`s Deputy of Ukraine from Strasbourg.

“Consideration of the visa regime was going to be moved to an indefinite date. Our insistence and a direct presence in the European Parliament debate showed the importance of adopting the amendments to the Agreement, and therefore the issue was considered and supported. In general, Europeans very appreciated our presence at the debate and openly admitted that it was the impetus for a positive decision “, – said Mykola Katerynchuk.

“I want to note that today’s voting on such an important issue for Ukraine, unfortunately, was left aside by current Ukrainian authorities. No government representative was at the debate or the voting. In my opinion these are not acceptable “, – said Mykola Katerynchuk.

“An important autumn event is coming – the signing of the Association Agreement. It is a crucially important step. However, there are threats to disrupt the process. I hope that organized and conducted by the European Party of Ukraine roundtable in the walls of the European Parliament, together with its members will relieve tension on this issue and Association Agreement will be signed, “- said the Ukrainian parliamentarian.
From April16-18 Ukrainian delegation headed by Mykola Katerynchuk was located in Strasbourg in the European Parliament, where Agreement between Ukraine and the EU on visa facilitation was considered. During the visit, the European Party of Ukraine organized a roundtable in the walls of the European Parliament Member with its members on the signing of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union.

The round table was attended by the Chairman of the NGO “Civil Guard” Eduard Zeynalov, the People`s Deputy of Ukraine, a group of MEPs from the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe, headed by Guy Verhofstadt.
