Today humankind celebrates the 27th anniversary of the Chornobyl tragedy. With sadness and sorrow we remember the events of the night April25-26 1986, when the world was startled by the terrible news of the accident.
Then we are not aware of all the deep and terrible consequences of the explosion on the 4th reactor. Today, throughout the world the words “Chornobyl victim” do not require translation. They are associated with something horrible.
Ukraine got not best soviet legacy. Over the years, we eliminate the consequences of the Chornobyl disaster. But it is impossible to eliminate even for the next millennium mistakes, which have cost hundreds of thousands lives and years of maternal tears. We will always remember those, who because of the terrible accident, today are not with us. The world continues its existence today due to a deed they made.
It is painful to hear and see how the authorities softened this feat, leaving them without benefits and cutting pensions of the liquidators and victims of the consequences of the Chornobyl tragedy. Thousands protest swept last year across the country but it did not find any compassion from the authorities in Kyiv.
So from my own heart I wish all victims health, peace, kindness, family happiness and prosperity.
