“The Bloc of Mykola Katerynchuk in the Kyiv City Council announces about closing down. According to Mykola Katerynchuk, this step of the Bloc members shows their political responsibility.
“Working in the Kyiv City Council was a serious lesson and good political experience for me. There is a fault for which I am responsible as a politician – I had three defectors in my faction. All these years a long struggle was being held – we tried to expel them from the City Council. But my experience concerns everyone: there is no faction, in which would be no traitors. I made the lesson from this experience. Today, this fight is ended: The faction ceases to work”, – said People’s Deputy of Ukraine.
In his view, the decision of the Constitutional Court on the elections in the capital is necessary for power for only purpose: to manipulate public opinion.
“They will do anything to stay in power until 2015. Therefore, they are now trying to “prepare” voters for the fact that the elections may be postponed, canceled, etc.. They need to understand how long we will let them continue it” – said Mykola Katerynchuk.
“But the opposition is able to counteract this – to close down all opposition factions in the Kyiv City Council. Thus City Council Deputies from all the opposition factions must give up the mandates and reset their electoral lists. The government will try to prevent it and to introduce new Council members. I have to warn that all members of the opposition, who will appear in the Kyiv City Council after the date of the closing down, will have nothing to do with the opposition. They will be shills from the power “- emphasized People’s Deputy of Ukraine.
According to him, the council members who will currently show the political responsibility and give up their mandates will become a basis of the team for a new mayor in the next elections to the Kyiv City Council.
“As a politician who applies for a status of the only candidate from the opposition, I state that in the next Kyiv City Council my team will be not the faction of Mykol Katerynchuk or some other single faction, but a team of all members of the United Opposition – from “Svoboda”, “UDAR”, “Batkivshchina” and others. These are the Deputies, which I will rely on as the opposition mayor “, – said Mykola Katerynchuk.
