“The European Party of Ukraine declares its readiness to strictly control the procedure of selling alcohol and cigarettes near schools. We will fundamentally study such problem and solve it in a legal way”, – said the leader of the party, the candidate for mayor of Kyiv Mykola Katerynchuk.
“Recently, I, as a People`s Deputy of Ukraine, received a petition from the Kyiv citizens on the intentions to open a supermarket, which certainly will sell alcohol and cigarettes in 30 meters from the main entrance of the Kyiv gymnasium № 48 (Prorizna Street). Accordingly, I prepared a parliamentary inquiry to the authorities to verify this fact and to prevent the opening of this supermarket. The decision of the City Council of 2008, which restricts the sale of alcoholic beverages in shops that are closer than 150 meters from the school has not been canceled”, – said the candidate for mayor of Kyiv.
“Moreover, we must realize our responsibility for the younger generation. Our future really depends on what our children will be like. The current situation in the country has demonstrated that the state must pay more attention to this problem”, – said Mykola Katerynchuk.
