“After the Kyiv Court of Appeal upheld the sentence of Pechersk District Court, under which Yulia Tymoshenko was sentenced to seven years of imprisonment, to talk about at least some justice in Ukraine has no reason. It would be logical to this instance to put an end to the political games around Yulia Tymoshenko and release her. Instead, the judiciary power has once again proved its own inability to make decisions in accordance with the law. Courts are not governed by the laws but by guidelines of government leaders and for this they deserve shame”, – announced the EPU leader, MP Mykola Katerynchuk.
“Citizens of our country, European and world communities expected the other decision. However, the government adopted a totally different scenario. From now on there is only hope for the rule of law exclusively in the European Court of Human Rights”- says MP.
“I have no doubt that this case, more precisely “reprisal” of former Prime Minister, will be a part of Ukrainian history”, – added Mykola Katerynchuk.
