Mykola Katerynchuk: Action in support of European integration turned into the revolution through the fault of the current government. Our primary goal is to eliminate the current government

“Talks about when and in what way the reign of Yanukovych will end, if another Maydan is possible in Ukraine, or if the current president stays in office till 2015 now find the answers in the form of protests and turn into the revolution”, – commented the leader of the European Party of Ukraine, People`s Deputy of Ukraine Mykola Katerynchuk on the latest events in Ukraine.
“The streets are not just an action in support of European integration. There is a revolution on the streets against the antinational regime, against violation of the rights and freedoms, against human dignity. People showed that they were prepared to resist. The main thing now is not to reduce speed and move forward. And those who have doubts about whether to join the protest: now it is time to make your choice”, – said Mykola Katerynchuk.
Mykola Katerynchuk is convinced that people`s indignation was not raised by the opposition. “People have risen themselves. Right now the goals of people and the opposition coincided. And they all want to eliminate the current government”, – said People`s Deputy.
“Our success largely depends on the number of those who are on the streets. More we have – better chance for winning we get. The government can disperse 300 unarmed students. But when hundreds of thousands stand at squares – there is significant chance that the “Berkut” will refuse to carry out the criminal order and the government will be powerless”, – said the politician.
“This revolution is our last chance. It is clear that the authorities are not scared of us. They are not going to give up easily, and they will seek out every opportunity to keep the status quo. The only thing we can do in this situation is to continue the protest and continue to loosen this power structure as long as we finally ruin it”, – said Mykola Katerynchuk.
He encouraged everyone to come at Euromaydan. “Those who can not be there all the time – come when you can. Assign yourself an alternation, at least for several hours a day. Please contact the organizing committee of Euromaydan, which is located at the House of Trade Unions – they always need help of volunteers in the kitchen, in guarding, in medical centers and more. Those who can not physically be there – wear yourself and distribute the symbols of protest, hang flags on your balconies, cars, at work. Convince those, who still doubts, convey information to those who are badly informed about the events. Demonstrate your active support of the protest in any ways”, – said Mykola Katerynchuk.
The politician stressed that the action is exclusively peaceful. “We are for the peaceful protest. I urge not to succumb to provocations and not to express aggression and by no means incite others to do so. Do not give the government the possibility to say that it was attacked and had grounds to use force”.
