Mykola Katerynchuk and the MEPs believe that Kyiv elections must be conducted in 2013

“We will seek for the decision to organize Kyiv elections before the Vilnius summit. The elections must be conducted in 2013 “- the decision was made today during the round table “The Association Agreement as a new paradigm of Ukrainian politics”, that was held at the initiative of the European Party of Ukraine in Kyiv. 

“This opinion is supported by the MEPs led by Annemie NEYTS-UYTTEBROECK, who responded to our invitation and took part in the round table. As a result, the corresponding resolution was signed (text attached)” , – said the leader of the European Party of Ukraine , People’s Deputy of Ukraine, the member of the parliamentary faction “Batkivshchina” Mykola Katerychuk .

“During the round table, participants noted positive trends in the European integration of Ukraine. However, we see them insufficient and among others we find it necessary, together with our colleagues from Europe, to obtain from the authorities the implementation of a number of conditions, including: changes in the electoral law, judicial reform, the suspension of “selective justice”, especially in the case of Yulia Tymoshenko, the abolition of the current law on the referendum, police reform and others”, – said the People`s Deputy.

“We believe that all the above aspects and comments can be considered and resolved by Ukrainian legislative and executive authorities before the Vilnius summit. We are convinced that signing of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU at the forthcoming summit in Vilnius will be the only right decision for both sides”, – said Mykola Katerynchuk.
