“Today, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine headed by Azarov approved the macroeconomic forecast for 2013, with the following indicators – GDP growth – 3.4% and inflation at 4.8%. However, Prime Minister forgot to mention the most important thing – next year Ukraine’s economy will be growing against the backdrop of the rapid collapse this year. Industrial production is decreasing. Construction, agriculture and transport are also declining. The only industry that is thriving is the trade of luxury goods – expensive cars, helicopters and boats” – announced People’s Deputy of Ukraine, the leader of the European Party of Ukraine, Mykola Katerynchuk.
“As of November 28, the government did not dare to submit to Parliament the draft of the state budget for 2013. Obviously, till December 4, the last day when the budget can be adopted by the Parliament, people’s deputies will not get the text of the draft budget. As a result, Ukraine will be celebrating New Year without the budget”, – said the MP.
“The reason is helplessness of the current government. Mykola Azarov realizes that he cannot cope with his responsibilities – teachers and doctors do not receive salaries, whole cities stay without heating and gas. Next year the situation will be even worse. Many people will lose their jobs, schools and hospitals will be closed due to the lack of funding”, – said Mykola Katerynchuk.
“I generally predict that 2013 will be very difficult for Ukraine’s economy and we will have a serious crisis of the non-payments. So today we should not make any vague predictions but actually make steps to optimize costs and reallocate funds not to leave to their fate vulnerable people: the disabled, children, seniors and others. A new government will have to do that, which has the support of the parliament”, – said the MP.
