The leader of the European Party of Ukraine, People’s Deputy of Ukraine Mykola Katerynchuk believes that the next parliamentary elections should be held in 2014. However, the President of Ukraine has to say if he is ready to sign the appropriate decree during the period of warfare in the east. He told about that on the air of the radio station.
“The European Party of Ukraine and I personally insist on dissolving the current parliament and new elections to lustrate those MPs, who supported the Yanukovych regime”, – said the People`s Deputy of Ukraine. – “However, we must define the rules under which these elections will be held. The old system with 5-percent threshold will not solve problems. The elections during the conduct of ATO and in the annexed Crimea will lead to 300 MPs in the Parliament. If Petro Poroshenko is ready for this, nothing prevents the elections”.
Mykola Katerynchuk said that he could support the bill 4906-1 of 06.02.2014 submitted by the People`s Deputy of Ukraine Mykola Rudkovsky. “I believe that this bill deserves to be adopted. It is proposed to use the electoral system with regional constituencies, final distribution of seats at the national level and the threshold of 3%”, – added the People’s Deputy of Ukraine.
