Today we celebrate not only the anniversary of the surrender of Nazi Germany, but also honor the heroism of Ukrainian people, their outstanding contribution into the victory of the anti-Hitler coalition in the Second World War and express respect for all the fighters against Nazism. The price of these celebrations is very high: more than 26 million citizens of the former Soviet Union, one in five of which – a Ukrainian, gave their lives for us.
Unfortunately, the war in the East of Ukraine still takes young boys and adult men, bring grief in the Ukrainian families, as it was in the Second World War. For three years there have been killed 2,600 soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and nearly 10,000 have been wounded.
There is no fun, only Memory and Grief to not let this happen again.
Never forget. For children, for life, for future.
