Mykola Katerynchuk demands from the High Council of Justice to check the actions of the judge, who released Victor Lozinsky

The leader of the European Party of Ukraine, People’s Deputy of Ukraine Mykola Katerynchuk asks the High Council of Justice of Ukraine to investigate the actions of the judge of the Boryspil district court of Kyiv region Serhiy Voznuyk, regarding a breach of the judicial oath while issuing a court ruling to release Victor Lozinsky from punishment on health grounds. The statement was sent today. 
The specified event is bound to cause our deep concern about the state of justice in Ukraine as one of the clearest examples of unprofessionalism, unscrupulousness and corruptibility of Ukrainian judges. This situation proves that the judicial system of Ukraine really needs a complete and total reform.
 
According to Article 126 of the Constitution of Ukraine, Article 32 of the Law of Ukraine “On the High Council of Justice” The High Council of Justice is considered to bring judges of all levels to justice for breaching the oath. 
“According to the given information about the events on June 11, 2014 connected with the release of Victor Lozinsky from punishment, the actions of the judge Serhiy Voznuyk can be considered as an acts that discredit the judiciary and raise reasonable doubts about his objectivity, impartiality and independence in the honesty and integrity of the judiciary, that is a breach of the judicial oath, which is one of the reasons for bringing him to justice”, – is said in the statement.
