On January 28-30, 2014 a special delegation from the European Parliament, representing all its factions, had an official visit in Ukraine. The delegation arrived to Kyiv to follow the current events in Ukraine. Yesterday, the delegation was present in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine during the adoption of the Amnesty law.
After the vote, the leader of the European Party of Ukraine , People`s Deputy of Ukraine Mykola Katerynchuk met with the member of the delegation, the President of the Liberal International, the member of European Parliament from the People’s Party for Freedom and Democracy (Netherlands) Hans van Baalen .
“Our party has made many efforts to hold this visit of the delegation. The value of the delegation in Ukraine right now is in the European Parliament resolution on Ukraine that will be adopted next week. And I hope now that it will be objective and fair”, – said Mykola Katerynchuk during the meeting with Hans van Baalen.
There were also discussed the resolution of the political conflict between the opposition and the government, the issue of early presidential elections and the amendments to the Constitution of Ukraine, the imposition of personal sanctions against members of the current government and the prospects of visa-free regime for Ukrainian citizens.
In addition, Hans van Baalen visited the tent city of the European Party of Ukraine at EuroMaydan.
