Mykola Katerynchuk: In the parliamentary-presidential republic the President via the General Prosecutor influence the parliament chosen by people

The leader of the European Party of Ukraine Mykola Katerynchuk believes that the President via the General Prosecutor influence the parliament chosen by people. Mykola Katerynchuk wrote this on his Facebook page.

“About Mosiychuk’s arrest. Yesterday, in the parliamentary-presidential republic the President via the General Prosecutor influence the parliament chosen by people. This is a sign, which shows the way votes for the new Constitution are going to be collected. Those, who will refuse to vote for the Basic Law changes, will be arrested directly in the session hall.

Mosiychuk can and must be convicted for the actions, that the General Prosecutor showed us yesterday. But in terms of content and scale they are simply worthless. Why Yatsenyuk and the government has not been sentenced yet, despite of being accused of stealing billions in Savik Shuster’s live program? What about the investigation of crimes of the Party of Regions’ former members, who have stolen billions and currently possess parliamentary mandates? What about the «Heaven’s Hundred» case. Why the deaths of thousands of people in Eastern Ukraine have not been investigated yet? There are still a lot of questions.

Mosiychuk’s arrest is a public political showdown and it highlights what happens to those, who disagree with the current government. Procedurally the General Prosecutor had no right to show the video in the parliament. The 5 cases against Mosiychuk should be continued and brought to the end if the government really wants to show its fight against corruption. Now it is just an imitation of such struggle.

The European Party of Ukraine, which I am honored to lead, appeals to law enforcement agencies to conduct an open trial on each of the announced cases with media and public involvement.”
