The leader of the European Party of Ukraine, People’s Deputy of Ukraine and the member of the parliamentary faction “Batkivshchina” Mykola Katerynchuk offers to give the opposition a post of Minister of Defense in the new Cabinet. He believes this will help to deter military confrontation between the government and the opposition. It was said today during his speech from the rostrum of the Parliament.
“If we talk seriously about resolving the conflict, we must reduce tension of the violent confrontation through changes in the composition of the Cabinet of Ministers – Minister of Defense must be from the opposition. Then we will not have even a thought about the possibility of military confrontation. A hot spot will be at the negotiating table, where it should be. Therefore, this question must be solved, so that we could choose a constructive way of resolving the political crisis in a peaceful manner. I am sure that there are enough conscious people, who can rise above their fear and unbelief, and solve the problem of political confrontation in Ukraine”, – said the People’s Deputy of Ukraine.
In addition, Mykola Katerynchuk urged parliament to adopt the amendments to the legislation of Ukraine on the Constitutional Court of Ukraine to return to the Constitution of 2004. “We must amend the Law on the Constitutional Court of Ukraine, so that we could correct its mistake and return to the Constitution of 2004”, – he said.
Also, at the suggestion of Mykola Katerynchuk the Parliament of Ukraine honored the memory of the demonstrators killed during the protests at Hrushevsky St. in Kyiv with a moment of silence. “I invite all People`s Deputies to stand up and honor those who died at Hrushevsky St. with a moment of silence”, – suggested the People`s Deputy of Ukraine, speaking from the rostrum.
