“The European Party of Ukraine expresses its deep concern and outrage at the assassination attempt against the Head of the Vinnytsia regional organization of the party “People’s Control”, the founder of an information resource “Vlasno.info”, an activist Volodymyr Volovodiuk”, – said the leader of the European Party of Ukraine Mykola Katerynchuk. – “We will require law enforcement agencies to conduct a prompt and impartial investigation of the accident, to publicly express their attitude to the attack on the journalist, whose professional activity became extremely dangerous today”.
As it was reported, Volodymyr Volovodiuk was brutally beaten on 12th July during his journalistic activities. Due to numerous beatings, the journalist was hospitalized.
The European Party of Ukraine believes that any pressure or attacks on journalists are unacceptable. Unfortunately, in Ukraine there is a diametrically opposite situation: the criminal situation has deteriorated; human rights are neglected, raiding and outright violence of members of criminal groups became common things nowadays. At the same time, the authorities are trying to ignore such cases and not to give them an assessment.
Today Ukraine is in the risk of slipping on the path of destruction order and anarchy. Such a scenario is unacceptable for Ukrainian people, who shed a sea of blood for freedom and the right to live in a country with a rule of law.
