The candidate for mayor of Kyiv, the leader of the European Party of Ukraine Mykola Katerynchuk proposes to establish in the capital a single e-ticket for all public transport. It was announced during the interview on improving the quality of routing traffic in Kyiv for the newspaper “Segodnya”.
“Now there is no alternative to route taxi in Kyiv, but the quality of such service is certainly on the low level. There are several million passengers a day in Kyiv and the large share of them use private route taxis. The only way to improve the quality of their services is to create competitive and high-quality municipal transport. If municipal transportation will be cheaper, better, safer and faster, then route taxis will have to satisfy such demands. Now they are out of competition. Despite numerous complaints about their work, route taxis are in demand by citizens and guests of the city. Therefore, municipal transport should be modern, convenient, fast and inexpensive. But it can be done very simply by increasing control over the use of the money allocated from the city budget for the maintenance of Kyivpasstrans”, – said Mykola Katerynchuk.
“I believe that the problem can be solved by establishing the electronic payment for public transport in a form of the e-ticket for all kinds of public transport, including the underground. No real money and no corruption. No tickets and tokens. That is the whole recipe”, – said the candidate for mayor of Kyiv.
