The united opposition candidate for People’s Deputy of Ukraine in the majoritarian constituency no.13, Mykola Katerynchuk, believes that the annual rent for the use of land share cannot be less than 7% of its market value. Mykola Katerynchuk repeatedly said about this during the meeting with voters in Kozyatyn, Kalynivka and Khmelnik districts. He has already registered the corresponding draft law in the Parliament. “Today, tenants are reluctant to pay the rent for the use of leased plots in cash (more than 70% of farmers receive the rent in kind). Thus, calculating rent in kind the tenants focus on product prices, which they define themselves. Sometimes the prices are higher than the market ones” – says Mykola Katerynchuk. The adoption of this law is his top priority.
Mykola Katerynchuk sees the initiative of the Party of Regions to lift the moratorium on land sales as an attempt of the current government to leave peasants without land.
“I stand for the prolonging of the moratorium on land sales until the adoption of the State Land Cadaster of Ukraine, which should be available electronically for all. According to the Cadaster, the land should be divided into three categories: agricultural land, land of the nationwide use (forests, rivers, lakes, roads, etc.) and land for the private use. Changing the status of land should be prohibited. That is, agricultural land and land of the nationwide use cannot become the land of the private use. In this way we will keep our state treasure and our unique resource – the fertile black soil” – said Mykola Katerynchuk.
