“During today’s session in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine the UDAR Party did not give a single vote in support of the bill that would give an opportunity to elect the mayor of Kyiv in two rounds. In fact Vitali Klitschko publicly despised the idea to ensure the democratic elections. He is not confident in his victory”, – commented the author of the draft law, People`s Deputy of Ukraine, the candidate for Mayor of Kyiv, the leader of the European party of Ukraine Mykola Katerynchuk on the voting of the Draft Law on amendments to the Law of Ukraine “On Elections of Deputies of the Verkhovna Rada of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Local Councils and Village, Town and City Mayors “(concerning the election of mayors by the absolute majority system) (№ 1098).
“Today there was the last chance to ensure the democratic elections in the capital by voting in two rounds. Anyway, I will continue to insist on adopting of my draft law in the Parliament”, – said the candidate for mayor of the capital.
