Mykola Katerynchuk: Tymoshenko and Lutsenko should participate in the parliamentary elections

“July 3, 2012 is a landmark day for all Ukrainian people. Today the European Court of Human Rights stated a gross violation of any democratic principles and the neglect of constitutional rights, when it decided a case of Yuriy Lutsenko, who, as it turned out, was arrested ILLEGALLY! It is a shame for our government, that this European structure indicates its foolishness, lack of rights and abuse of the law. The court found a violation of the article 5 of the Convention of Human Rights – an illegal detention of Lutsenko”, – said the leader of the European Party of Ukraine, People’s Deputy of Ukraine, Mykola Katerynchuk, commenting on the decision of the European Court of Human Rights in the case of Yuriy Lutsenko.

“The highest judicial institution of Europe has recognized the fact of the political persecution in Ukraine, as we repeatedly talked and even shouted to the authorities. Instead, we weren’t heard. I hope that the eyes of all who had a hand in this case of arrest and imprisonment of one of the leaders of the opposition will be opened from now”, – emphasized Mykola Katerynchuk.

“After this announcement the Ukrainian court is simply obliged to reconsider its decision in the cases of Yuriy Lutsenko and Yulia Tymoshenko and release them from prison, so that they can participate in the upcoming parliamentary elections”, – added the MP.
