Recent events in Kyiv City Council once again confirmed that Mayor Leonid Chernovetsky and block of his name in the Kyiv City Council have finally exhausted themselves and are unable to control the city for the benefit of the community. De facto incapable Mayor Leonid Chernovetsky and full Council of defectors – all this testifies about the systemic crisis of local government in Kyiv.
The Kyiv government has become a place for endless corridor intrigues, while the community is devoid of any real levers of influence on the situation in the city. Kyivans were denied the right to choose their government in eliminating Kyiv District Councils. Complete isolation of power from the people, destruction of the historic face of nature and city, rampant raiding, the rapid rise of spending – this is not a complete list of what today has become the ordinariness of the capital.
Block of Mykola Katerynchuk and the European Party of Ukraine believes that there is a way out from impasse – this is full reset of power. Kyiv should be released from corruption and corrupt officials. In view of this, Block of Mykola Katerynchuk and the European Party of Ukraine will initiate early elections of City Mayor and City Council. New Kyiv government has to restore democracy in Kyiv, stop illegal schemes, causing a strong impact on raiding and predatory extortion of Kyivans.
