Last week, the staff of the investigation department of the Ministry of Revenue and Duties of Ukraine organized a search in the private house and office of the head of the Kirovohrad Regional Department of the European Party of Ukraine Oleksandr Sevidov.
“For my identification they had my photo with printed symbols of the European Party of Ukraine on the background, which certainly indicates the involvement of political aspect. I do not know, why this was done “- said Oleksander Sevidov. – “But I associate a search only with my political activity. Repeatedly we conducted a variety of activities in our region with the party members. We also took an active part in national events and actions of Mykola Katerynchuk as a potential candidate for a mayor of Kyiv”.
“The fact that a search was conducted by the staff of the investigation department of Kyiv itself, rather than regional or district departments is also interesting. Obviously it again points that the pressure was based solely on political grounds”, – said the head of Kirovograd Regional Department.
In turn, the leader of the European Party of Ukraine, People’s Deputy of Ukraine, member of the parliamentary faction “Batkivshchina” Mykola Katerynchuk said that he has once mentioned in media the head of Kirovohrad Regional Department as one of the financiers of his Kyiv campaign. “Certainly this information has caused an interest of authorities that under the control of powers resort to banal pressure. The goal is simple and straight forward – to make me and my team obey to the existing regime”, – said the MP.
“I have prepared a series of parliamentary inquiries to the police to intervene the situation and get explanations about the reasons of pressure on the head of the Kirovograd Regional Department of the European party of Ukraine”, – said Mykola Katerynchuk.
