The ATO veteran Valeriy Shapovalov is a candidate for People`s Deputy from the European Party of Ukraine in the 85th constituency. During the election campaign, Valeriy Shapovalov held more than 50 meetings with voters, which were visited by about 1000 people.
Background information
Valeriy Shapovalov is a Head of the Ivano-Frankivsk branch of the NGO “Ukrainian Association of Disabled ATO veterans”.
Born on July 24th, 1971 in Burundai, Alma-Ata region (Kazakhstan), became a citizen of Ukraine in 1991.
From 1989 to 1991 served in the Armed Forces of the USSR in the Western Group of Forces.
From 1993 to 1997 served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, performing a peacekeeping mission in Yugoslavia.
From 2002 to 2005, received a degree in Kirovohrad Regional Institute of Management.
From 2005 to 2007 worked as a head of the “Martus-Trade.”
From 2014 to 2015 served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the ATO area.
While serving was injured and dismissed for health reasons.
Married, has a loving wife Ilona and two wonderful sons Arseniy and Alexiy.
Program
Valeriy Shapovalov is for:
• cessation of the military actions in the east of Ukraine;
• social protection of people affected by the war;
• social protection of war and labor veterans, the disabled people and families with many children, maintaining their financial benefits and social security;
• European health reform, cheap and quality drugs; health improvement for children and adolescents;
• doubling of public sector wages;
• accessible and free education;
• fair housing reform and fair rates for rendered services;
• living wage and the minimum wage of at least 3000 UAH;
• establishing of the uniform rules for calculating pensions;
• honest and uncorrupted court judges;
• free and prosperous Ukrainian villages;
• modern European roads;
• reforestation, protection of small rivers and natural landscapes;
• state support for environmentally friendly and energy-efficient technologies in industry.
