The Council of the European Party of Ukraine appealed to the parliamentary opposition with a proposal to appoint Mykola Katerynchuk the Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on European Integration. The decision was taken on December 12. “The current People’s Deputy and the ex-Minister of the Foreign Affairs Borys Tarasyuk should be considered the most experienced in the question of European integration in the faction “Batkivshchyna”. Due to the fact that he was elected the vice-chairman of the Council of the faction, European Party of Ukraine considers it appropriate to recommend the faction “Batkivshchyna” to support the leader of the European Party of Ukraine, Mykola Katerynchuk, for the position of the Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on European Integration” – said in the statement.
Furthermore, the Council recommended Mykola Katerynchuk to hold negotiations with parliamentary factions of the parties “UDAR” and “Svoboda” to coordinate further joint actions in the parliament.
