The European Party of Ukraine begins preparations for parliamentary elections in 2012

Today on May 30, there was a meeting of the European Party of Ukraine, which discussed the political situation, current issues of party building, development prospects of the party and participation in the next parliamentary elections.

“Despite rather long time before the next election of the parliamentary campaign, we are aware of the degree of responsibility to the party supporters and voters for the Verkhovna Rada of seventh convocation. Objectively evaluating the current socio-economic situation, we can predict a change of government. However, this scenario is possible only with the active participation of opposition parties in the election campaign and frank public position”, – said during the meeting the Leader of the European Party of Ukraine, Deputy of Ukraine Mykola Katerynchuk. – “So our task is to actively prepare for the parliamentary elections to make efforts in the common cause of democratic forces for change in the existing regime.”

“Now the government has begun an active discussion about the changes in rules during the elections. Of course, the government tries to create for themselves the most comfortable conditions. However, I believe that society in our country is changing very actively and through public speeches will make pro-government parliamentary majority consider its interests “, – said Mykola Katerynchuk.

The Council of the European Party of Ukraine decided to participate in the parliamentary elections in 2012, outlined a number of priorities to prepare for the election campaign.
