Today, in the building of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine the representatives of the European Party of Ukraine, namely the chairman Mykola Katerynchuk , the international secretary Natalia Sevidova, the chairman of the executive committee Vitaliy Shcherbenko and the head of Kyiv party organization Serhiy Grachov had a meeting with the UK Justice Minister Simon Hughes. Minister Hughes emphasized that it was not his official visit but a visit of solidarity with Ukrainian people. At the same time, Mr. Hughes shared his impressions of his visit to Maydan. He was filled with the spirit of freedom and sorrow for the dead. “It is difficult to restrain tears, when you know about the events that took place here”, – he said.
The Russian annexation of the Crimea and the issue of the upcoming elections were discussed during the meeting.
It is important to add that the UK takes tough stance in upholding justice in the matter of Ukraine. Debates in the Council of Europe were the latest example and showed the Pro-Ukrainian position of the UK.
