“Hontaryeva`s mission as the head of the NBU was the reduction of hryvnia, and we can say that it is performed. Over the past two years we have seen a strong trend of hryvnia depreciation, as a result we became three times poorer”- said the head of the Central Executive Committee of the European Party of Ukraine, the Deputy Head of the Party Valeriy Klochok on one of the TV channels.
“If the NBU and Hontareva really fulfilled their constitutional function – to provide stability of hryvnia in Ukraine, we would not have poverty, the decline of the banking system, and as a result a huge budget deficit. Hontareva did not clean up the banking system but caused irreparable harm. As a result, people who entrusted money to banks, just lost them”, – said Valeriy Klochok.
“And now, in the context of the pension reform our banking system is a stumbling block. It is logical to create a multi-pillar pension system, as proposed by experts and the government. This is a normal European practice. But given the level of distrust in banks that currently exists in Ukraine, the question, where and how we should accumulate these funds, is opened. And first and foremost we should ask the head of the NBU”, – he added.
