Today, on the square of the Constitution before the Parliament, the European Party of Ukraine, along with other democratic parties , took part in the campaign for a new electoral law.
“The European Party of Ukraine supports the requirement to change the electoral system in Ukraine. We share the views of the participants of today’s action to cancel the majoritarian system to introduce the revocation mechanism for deputies and to conduct elections with open lists of candidates”, – said the deputy head of the European Party of Ukraine, the ead of the Central Executive Committee of the Party Valeriy Klochok during the speech.
“Article 5 of the Constitution, which states that the only source of power in Ukraine is the people, the current government interprets on its own: the people are the only source of self-enrichment for the authorities”, – said in his speech Valeriy Klochok. – “Our task is to stop such shameful practices. The only way to resolve such a problem is to approve a new electoral law which will stop the oligarchs and corruptionists, and let qualitatively new, democratic, European politicians come to power”.
Following the results of the action in the Presidential Administration, the participants of the action passed a resolution demanding to adopt a new law on the electoral system of Ukraine.
