“Events in Lutsk is nothing but a provocation, which aims to undermine the credibility of Ukraine in the eyes of our European partners” – stated the leader of the European Party of Ukraine Mykola Katerynchuk on one of the TVchannels, commenting on strafing the Polish Consulate in Lutsk by unknown.
“In my opinion, this provocation is directly connected with the voting in the European Parliament on granting Ukraine a visa-free regime with the EU, which will be held on 11 April, 2017. And the loss of Ukraine on this issue, another delay of this process plays into the hands of Kremlin. After all, they then will have to explain to Russians why Ukrainians, Georgians and Moldovans, which they considered a second-class, travel freely to Europe, and they instead must get visas”, – he stressed.
“And the choice of the Consulate of Poland is not accidental, because Poland is one of the main partners of Ukraine in the EU and has always shown their support in the European integration of Ukraine. It is clear that undermining of these relations will cause negative consequences for Ukraine. Therefore, in the 10 days remaining before the voting of the European Parliament the risk of another provocations remains high”, – said Mykola Katerynchuk.
