The best lustration of civil servants is a life-long prison that will be a clear example of the career to anyone who goes into public service and is about to bribe, stated Mykola Katerynchuk, on “Politeka”, commenting on the President’s initiative on lustration.
“Everyone who goes into public service should understand that bribery is a risk. Bribery must be absolutely dangerous. People in power need to be aware that they go there to perform only a state function. We have already had lustration and dismissals – they do not work. There is a necessity to imprison. We have the political will of the president to fight corruption, but it still depends on the staff, including the prosecutor general. On the other hand, frames can also be modified. In the show business if the operator failed to make a successful double in two attempts, he will be changed to another one”, said Mykola Katerynchuk.
