Interaction with international donors is needed. But the main reserve for economic growth is the solution of internal problems, such as corruption, smuggling and the destruction of oligarchs’ monopolies for actual financing from the state budget, said the representative of the Civic Position team Mykola Katerynchuk on the air of the ZIK channel, commenting on the IMF’s requests for the next tranche.

“The IMF says standard things. He sees an unbalanced budget, a budget deficit, and points us to assets that we can sell. This is land and non-privatized state enterprises. I think it is wrong to make such demands. IMF money under such conditions will be very expensive. Selling our assets during the war is not profitable. First, the price will be minimal. And secondly, the oligarchs, who have money today, will benefit from this, and small and medium-sized businesses will not be able to participate in privatization. I believe that we should turn to our internal reserves. In particular, we must start the fight against smuggling, and we will stop all tax evasion schemes. According to estimates by foreign experts, if only to block smuggling, the state budget will receive from 3 to 5 billion dollars a year, which will allow us to refuse in the future from the IMF loans. The new parliament and the new government can do it”, said Mykola Katerynchuk.
