On May 6, 2018, the European Party of Ukraine organized assistance for the shelter of stray animals – SOS Animal.
This shelter was created and survives only at the expense of volunteers, both from Ukraine and other countries. Unfortunately, the government doesn`t help in any way. Yesterday we painted the enclosures, cleaned the cat-houses and made some hygienic procedures for the animals. There are a lot of work there and not enough workers.
In a week the shelter will celebrate its twenty-one birthday. Previously, in its place was the workshop for the utilization of stray animals, which was closed in 1997. The first money to create a shelter was given by Brigitte Bardot, and today you can join this important cause. In SOS-Animal live more than a thousand dogs and 330 cats. There are dog-revolutionaries from Maidan, there are dog-veterans of ATO zone, even from Donetsk airport. The person who is taking care of animals is Tamara Tarnavskaya. She is not just take care of food, medicine and care for animals, but also protects the shelter land, sometimes even risking her live. Many dishonest politicians want to occupy their land.
Friends! If you have some time and desire at least once a month, two or six months, plan several hours of your time to visit and help the SOS-Animal shelter! You will be always welcome there! Remember, Europe begins with each of us!
