Ruslan Chernolutsky: There is almost no middle class in Ukraine

“I am convinced that our society does agree neither with the UN, nor any official data, because in recent years we have seen that a huge gap between rich and poor was formed, and even the entire middle class was ruined in Ukraine”, – said the head of the Odessa City Organization of the European party of Ukraine, the Deputy Head of th Party Ruslan Chernolutsky on one of the TV channels, commenting on the UN data, which says that about 60% of the population in Ukraine are under the poverty line.

“If a few years ago you could say that the middle class in Ukraine is gradually formed, the recent state`s chaotic actions in the economic sphere actually destroyed the middle class, so it is obvious that the percentage of poor population in Ukraine is growing”, – said Ruslan Chernolutsky.

“This was directly affected by the tariff policy, unsubstantiated minimum wage of 3200, which caused the mass closure of small and medium businesses earlier this year. That is why the prognosis is disappointing. If government policy is not changed, at the end, international organizations will articulate a much larger percentage of poor people in Ukraine”, – he added.
